“C’mon, Sesshoumaru! It’s not poison, I promise!”

“I already declined.”

“What, is it because it’s ‘human food’?”

“Precisely.”

Kagome fumed and fell back on her folded legs, her cheeks puffed out in a pout. Of all the nerve! She knew he despised humans and anything to do with them, but that wasn’t an excuse to deny food that she made for him, even if it was a simple bowl of instant ramen noodles.

“InuYasha likes it…”

Sesshoumaru raised his eyebrow at her, clearly not impressed with her argument. Realizing her mistake too late, Kagome couldn’t take back what she said. Why did she think mentioning InuYasha would help her case?

She bit her lower lip in thought. “What…would I have to do for you in order to get you to eat the noodles I made?”

His piercing golden eyes rolled lazily in her direction, which she might have found creepy if he didn’t seem to be contemplating her offer. Surely it couldn’t be anything too bad, InuYasha was still as overprotective as always, and neither wanted to deal with him barging in enraged. It was bad enough Jaken dropped by all too often to badmouth Kagome.

Sesshoumaru glanced over to his right. “Teach Rin how to fly a kite.”

Well…that was unexpected. “What?”

“She wants to know. If you teach her, I’ll eat your disgusting human food.”

Kagome pouted at the remark. Did he always have to find room to insult her? She sighed and held out her pinky. “Alright, but you have to pinky-promise me that you’ll eat it! I don’t want it to go to waste just because you’re stubborn.”

Sesshoumaru stared at her extended finger. “Excuse me?”

“A pinky promise! Just put your pinky around mine, and it’s a done deal!”

“That’s far below my—”

“You said Rin wanted to fly a kite, right?”

It was a gift of Kagome’s to corner demons. Said demon, in this case, quietly wrapped his long digit around hers, careful not to scratch her. With a smug smile, Kagome nodded.

“Was that so hard?”

Considering he hadn’t let go, she concluded it wasn’t.

Why were all men such babies?
